When I try to start my car it wont turn over. I know its not the coil cause that was replaced a few days ago and seems to be fine. What I really need to know is how can I test the relay to see if thats the problem before I go taking down my tank. And it isnt the fuse either. If it matters its an '85 2m4.

There are two wires in the ALDL connector (behind the panel with the cigarette lighter). There will be two wire right next to each other (A & B) at the opposite end will be other wires. Connect the fuel pump wire (G?) to 12V. If you hear a humming/whirring, the pump is good.

Turn the key on and right away you should hear a buzzing sound from your gas tank and if you dont its your fuel pump, and if you do hear a buzzing sound check your injector cylonde on your throtle body injector.

Thank God it wasnt the fuel pump. That will be a fun job to do. It was the fuel filter and also a clog in the tube to the fuel filter.

If you had a clog in that line, you will be pulling the tank for cleaning at some point, unless it came from some previous maint procedure. Better check your oil press switch too. It should have powered up the fuel pump after turning the engine over for a while, as oil press built up.

The clog in the hose was after the fuel filter. Looked as if a piece of the filter itself fell off and built up in that section of the hose. Well at least thats what I am hoping for. Cause right now I am building my garage and its hard to take the tank out in the middle of the street.
