I orded it and it should be here tonight after I get off work at my house. What all is involved in installing it? I'd like to plan out my work before hand because it needs to be running before noon tomarrow, so I'm debating if I should do it tonight or not. Please let me know how easy it is to do?

Don't know what your mechanical ability is, but you have to drop the trans pan and remove the valve body from the trans. Be very careful everything is super clean. You might as well pick up new trans fluid, trans filter, and new trans pan gasket before you start the project.

As far as I know, the shift kit comes with a new gasket and filter. You'll have to get some ATF; I'd get synthetic myself. Good luck! I plan on getting one soon as well.

Well, I don't know jack about tranny's, but I guess this would be a good time to learn. Its the whole removing the valve body I'm having a time with, how is it done? Any special notes?

I just did it. Take your time and read the instructions carefully do this ten times, : no kidding!, they are meant for someone who is knowledgeable about transmissions. There are four check balls ( ball bearings ) and they can be lost easily so be careful. It is very difficult to remove the valve body on a thd 125 because you may wind up dropping the fluid pump blades, they are off center and have a magnet behind them. Basically it involves changing a valve body plate and gaskets that comes with the kit , some springs, adding a few washers and adjusting the passing gear lever. It is hard, especially if you loose a bearing or a pump blade removing the valve body. Although there are no special tools needed other than a snap ring pliers with size 00 tips, this is not for someone with no mechanical skill or little patience. My tranny was out of the car and it was tough so I can just imagine doing it while it is in the car.

I just got a kit from the Fiero Store too. Looking at the instructions is not helpful at all!!!!! Might as well be written in Arabic. Does any one have any better instructions for performing this procedure? I just thought of something. Maybe someone on the forum can work something out with Cliff and set up a link for Step by Step photo instructions on performing Maintenance procedures and some of the most popular Mods.(diagrams, photos, tricks, etc.)That way you could just click on the link ,select the mod or procedure that you want to perform and pull it right up!I think everyone will agree that the repair manuals are pretty vague when it comes to some things! Everyone could contribute! what do you think Cliff??? Orief???Trav???
