Way back in 87 I worked for a Pontiac dealership and drove Fiero GT's for company cars.

Not knowing 88 would be the last year for Fiero's, I ordered my dream car. It was a bright red 87 GTA Trans Am with a Tuned Port 305, 5-speed manual, and 3.45 performance axle ratio.

It took 12 weeks to get there because of the 5-speed but what a great car!
After It was broken in I ran it against my 87 GT 5-speed Fiero demo. It was no contest at the GTA pulled the Fiero easily in straight line acceleration. However, it was also no contest on Scenic Drive here in El Paso. This is a two lane road that winds around the mountain in the middle of the city. The Fiero's independent suspension would leave the GTA's live axle behind on the bumpy off camber corners.
I'll miss the F-body when its gone, but I still have my dinosaur F-car. 1972 HO-455 Trans Am! Wanna Race????
