OK, I got a little carried away with the new Mityvac today, and suddenly I heard a sucking sound from the master cylinder. Yep, bled it dry. Is there any hope of bleeding this thing on the car? I went through a quart of fluid, and the pedal is still spongy. I'm going to try jacking the back up to get the MC level. Anybody else got any suggestions?

try cracking each bleeder alittle, let it gravity bleed for awhile..that should get all the air out without have to pump 4 quarts of fluid through , it... It is slow.. keep it full and check for bubbling at the bleeder.. it stops bubbling tighten it up.. waa laaa

Gravity bleed your brakes?

API Denver, Colorado: Researchers have discovered an intact 1987 Pontiac Fiero after digging through 600 feet of ice and snow. Mysteriously, all four bleeder valves were open on the relic. Scientists believe that the owner probably heard that brakes could be blead by gravity. As you know, the current ice age began 300 years ago and everyone is thrilled that the ice is finally receeding. However, hydraulic fluid has still not made it to the callipers on this interesting archive, so scientists have decided to leave the car burried just to see how long it really does take to bleed brakes by gravity!

Hey Gary!
You need to blead the MC first, then the lines, then the calipers...

I had some brake work done that included gravity bleeding the system, and got the car back the same day. With my luck the one frozen in ice should have been mine.
