I have a 87 GT with no AC what wire would I ground out to turn the fan on, can I do it by the ECM instead of doing it in the engine at the sensor cause the wire is a tad tight.

I did attempt it today I metered, checked the book and followed colors and ended up blowing the ECM. I feel like such an idiot cause I know where I made my mistake.

Thanks

here's one for you, the previous owner of my car had done this, and installed a switch in the dash. He took the switch out because it just confused the other folks who drove the car and left it hotwired. I have hooked up the switch again and....

Switch on = fan on and everything normal
Switch off = fan off & speedometer off!

so I'm losin the ground to the speedo too?
I just did this tonight, and ran out of time, so I thought I'd get some suggestions before I tackle it tomorrow

theres a relay switch (small plastic box) where you will need to pry the casing open and use a jumper wire. The fan will come on when ign is on. I did this a long time ago on another fiero. I may need to do it again on my current one-

Check the above link, I just patched into that wire and it now works perfectly. I will post pics of the install I installed 4 micro switches between the map lights where the sub slider is supposed to be
