I have an opportunity to get an 88 coupe for a very low price. It is a basic version with a bad 4 cyl. I have an 85GT V6.
Q1.The interior in the 88 is showroom perfect and I want to know if it will be a direct swap into my 85.
Q2. Will the coupe body panels switch with the GT? I know the front fascia is different, but how about the rest of the panels. I want to be able to use my lower GT moldings when all is said and done.
Q3. Is there anything on the 88 that was upgraded and can be swapped over to the 85. ie brakes, sensors, etc.

A very good Idea!
Definitely the way to deal with the situation!

The 88 had a completely redesigned suspension and braking system. The 88 cradle can be installed in the earlier cars with some adapters to relocate the struts, but coil-overs will be required. The 88 front suspension is, for all practical matters, not able to be swapped into the earler cars.
(One guy on this Forum has done it, but it involved a lot of cutting and fabrication.)
Interior pieces are interchangeable.
IMHO, if your GT is trashed, the easiest option would be to swap your V-6 into the 88. Will require a different front engine mount, maybe a different exhaust Y-pipe, and not much else. Use your V-6 harness and computer.
All of the GT bodywork, including ground effects and fascias, can be installed on the 88.
Several folks on this forum have done similar swaps (engine and/or body), with great success. You can search for info. Link is at the top of the page.

I would also use the 88. Not a bad swap to change the motor over. I love 88's
