Well as I was putting on a rear sway bar I decided I should check the front tires and twist them like people told me to do. I grapped the tire at 9 and 3 and twisted it and it makes a click noise. I did it at 12 and 6 and nothing would happen. So how bad is this?? Could I just be dumb and not tightend the lug nuts or is this tie rod ends?? If it is tie rods how hard are they and do I need an alignment when I get done??

Thanks Ken

Maybe you need new bearings. Could be tierods. I just changed mine last night and it is not hard. Took me less than 2 hours, but that was my first time even attempting to.

Just had another thought. Make sure the nut that holds the outer bearings is on tight enough. My wheel did that and I tighted that nut a bit, and now it doesn't wiggle anymore.

Could it be you have a rock or nail in the tire?

It doesnt go click click when Im driving only when I jacked the car up and the front tires were not touching th ground I shook them at 9-3 o'clock and they made a click type noise. I will look into the lug nuts and anything loose.

    Thanks Ken

I doubt a lug nut or bearing.... if anything it's a tie rod/rack issue. There's always a tiny bit of movement there... Have someone rotate the locked steering wheel tight to the lock pin to reduce slack.

If the outter rod end is sloppry you can usualy see or feel it. You need 2 helpers. on to hold the steering wheel as above another to work the tire while you watch the rod end.

Can someone help me??? I just had a brand new Driver side axle shaft put in. My CV boot had ripped so I decided to just put in a whole new axle to be safe. (Plus it was only $40 with my discount) Now, when I start to go, I hear a click come from the wheel area. It doesn't happen when I drive or when I turn, hit bumps or anything. Just does it when the initial torque goes to the wheel whenever I start, reverse included. Anyone know what this could be????
