Worked on my car yesterday because the stereo had a problem taking right turns...
Every time I took a right turn, the audio would fuzz out real bad, sometimes I could smell electrical smoke...
Trouble-shot the problem to the cig lighter!
Seems the slight shift caused the interior of the lighter housing to short out...
crash...

Hmmm... would've thought that'd make the "shift" light come on

Thanks for posting - apparently that circuit has been known to blow its fuse and cause other mysterious problems, too. The problem then becomes tracking down where the short is. Looks as though, the cigarette lighter is a good place to start looking!
