Anyone have broken rear deck lid straps? Looking for someone to try out a free pair of the plated eyelet end straps. You can install them with the hinges still installed in your car as these are the type that require you to drill and tap the hole the factory rivit was in. You will need a .257 drill bit and a 5/16" x 18 tap. When I start to offer these I'll have on my web page this drill and tap for about $5.00 extra for those who do not have them on hand. Having a digital camera would be a plus!

Guess you will have to excuse my ignorance again. My straps are broken,(cut actually) but I never gave it much thought, what is the purpose for them? You're gonna sell a drill & tap for $5?
Don

The straps stop the rear deck lid from hitting the rear of your roof. In time they fail and break in half. These are the cables mounted to the hinge assemblies. Maybe I should have called them rear deck lid limit cables?

Oh ok! Now I know what you mean! I need to find a way to keep my deck lid up too! heheh

And always feel free to call on me to test anything... My 88 T-top is one big project anyway!

Thanks for all you do, Rodney...

I broke one about a year ago and I'm very interested in testing them for you. I have both digital camera and digital video cam.
