Hey guys. I'm looking to do some new gauge faces, but they require the gauge lights to be on when the ignition is on. I'm wondering how I make the gauge lights operate simultaneously with the ignition. I know I'll have to splice wires into other wires, but I'm not sure where to start. If anyone knows, that'd be great. Mentioning wire colors is also very helpful. I'm a visual person. Thanks a lot!

I don't know what wires they would be, but i say best bet is to use a volt meter, and see what wires are hot when you turn the key on.

Pink wires are usually hot in run/start.
Red wires are non-fused hot.
Orange wires are fused hot.

Okay, thanks! Now, which color wires should I splice into the ignition wiring? For the gauges. Should I turn the parking lamps on and do a volt meter check for the wires going to the gauges? Thanks a lot!

If it ain't broke, might as well slap on some nitrous!

I believe that the wires for all the lighting that is controlled by the interior lighting dimmer control (guages, radio, heater control, etc.) are brown in color.
