hey people, anyone know of an easy place to splice in a wireing harness for trailer lights? the stock wiring is burried so high up that I don't think I can reach it back by the trunk. is there someplace further forward where it's easier to reach? thanks!

when i did mine, i pulled the taillights off. i have a coupe and it was pretty simple. i just bought a $5 wiring kit from wal-mart. just matched the wires by color. took about 10 min. then i fed the connector down to the License plate and was done.
what do you have to tow?

how do you get the lights out? I figured there would just be bolts or snaps behind the carpet in the trunk, but it was just flat metal. Thanks.

Rick, to pull the tail lights open your trunk, you will see some black caps along the top of the rear. pull these caps and the screws for the tail lights are right there.

Any trick to these things? I've got the screws out, but they're just not coming out, I can wiggle them a bit, but nothing is actually coming out.

No trick. Just remove the screws (3 for each side) and the taillight assembly sould just slide out. That's not to say that it's not sticking (been in there for since at least 1988) or that a previous owner might have done something strange to them.
