You want to flush the whole system? or just the rad?

need to remove a rad hose and attach a garden hose to it and allow the water to flow out the other end of where you took the hose off. Be sure to catch the anitfreeze in a bucket-is not enviromentally friendly.

Park on a slight decline - open the rad valve-remove rad cap- drain completely- close valve- mix coolant- pour in at thermostat housing til rad overflows-cap rad- top up and cap thermostat- top up overflow. Did I miss anything?

Do the refill with the car running and then put the cap on but not sealed and let it run... then top it off...

Then after you drive the car the first time, after it cools, top it off again..

This is how I did mine recently anyway.

When I changed my heater core I followed a
draining procedure in one of my manuals.
It said to open the two plugs in the coolant
lines. They are under each door and use a hex
type (allen) tool. I was amazed at all the rusty crud that came out of them. I had to poke the openings a few times when the flow
slowed up due to clogging. When the (garden hose) water flowed clear, I buttoned it up ran a bottle of flush and water for 5 minutes then drained it again. Filled with 50/50 coolant/water and ran it again. Burped the thermostat air bubble. All done!
