I am about to buy a manifold for my 87 2.5, and a friend tells me he has one from some other 87 chevy with a 2.5, and thinks it's the same. I doubt it, maybe the end that goes against the engine is the same, but the flange end has to be different. Are exhaust manifolds from any other vehicle usable?

The 87 Fiero w/ 2.5 liter motor used a 10044374. That manifold was used on GM's A & N cars. A cars are the Celebrity/6000 and the N car is the Grand Am/ Olds. Calais/Buick Somerset-Skylark. Now I am not saying "no other manifolds will work." What I am say is that GM say for the 87 model year these vehicles used the same part as the Fiero.

It might work. The manifold on my blazer looked identical.

That I've seen... And I've seen a bunch... All 87 & up FWD GM product with the 2.5l motor uses the same manifold. I've used them from both Olds Cutlass Calais and Grand Am.

With minor diferances the whole power train is the same. Minor,,, like the shifting cables/brackets, engine mounts, belt driven stuff.
