you said you use this tool but what do I need to get? I have a laptop but need the cable and software. What exactly do I need? there is so much stuff on the website to buy!

Diacom from Rinda Technologies. About $250 for the base kit (software and cable). $550 for the advanced, but the base kit is fine.

It's a bit bitchy about the parallel port. It won't work on some portables. Search the net for Diacom Portable Compatable. There are lists out there.

After that, Oliver Shultz has one for the V6 ECM's.

AutoXray doesn't hook up to a PC... It's a stand alone one. About $150-200us depending where you get it.

Diacom is generally considered the best for PC.

Interesting, I wonder what all that PC stuff is for then. Must be to DL info from the tool, I kinda figured thats what it was but I was not sure
