It would seem that the donut type gasket where the exhaust pipe flange connects to the exhaust maniflod is gone. I can feel exhaust blowing out when it's revved, and have a lot of ticking. According to the Fierostore, the gasket for the 87 2.5 is not the same as the earlier one, yet they only list one gasket for all 2.5's.What is the real story?

I bought one at DAPS yesterday for my 87 2.5. Don't know about what differences there might be, I just asked for the one I needed and he had it listed and in stock. I think it was less than $6. You might as well go ahead and get the spring bolts that hold the pipe to the flange. DAPS didn't have them but they were in the HELP! section at AutoZone, $4+ each for the two you need.

According to the GM parts catalog. 84-87 use 22573082. The '88 used a 10131603. You should still be able to get both of them from the dealer, but they will cost more than the aftermarket.
