First let me say that I'm brand new here and that I don't have a Fiero, but I do have a Jeep with the Iron Duke motor in it so I though I ought to go to the experts with my questions.I have been given conflicting information about Iron Duke bell housing bolt patterns I have been told that the Iron duke has the same bell housing bolt pattern as the small block chevy I have also been told that only the Iron Duke used in Jeeps have the small block chevy bell housing bolt pattern. Can some one here tell me which is correct?

1.What year is the jeep?
2.Do you know if the motor is original?
In the '70s they did use a 4cyl. that was a
decendent of the chevyII motor-this will have
a SBC bellhousing. It did use a crossflow head
so it is esentially a "iron duke".Or the later engines used the current "FWD"bellhousing design. You can tell by looking at the top two bolts in the pattern-are they right at the top or are they
a few inches down and does the bell housing
come to a point?if so,it is SBC.

It's a 1980 CJ-5 the motor is original.I have been told that these motors were purchesed from general motors from 1980 to 1984 and are Iron dukes. My main question are do all iron dukes use the same bell housings? And how do i tell if it has a cross flow head?
