OK, I posted this subject about a week ago. But I was wrong. I'm getting a code 42 which is the electronic spark timing. Engine misses at higher rpm after getting this service light. Should I replace the ignition module in the distributor? I'm not good at electronics troubleshooting. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Replace the plugs
Replace the wires
if it still throws a code get a haynes manual and a multimeter and test the coilpacks.
That should do it

Ronnie, Code 42 is a code set by the computer after an interaction between the ecm and ignition module fails. Check the electrical connectors on the outside as well as the inside, reset the computer (pull batt for > 10 sec) and run it. If it happens again, I would try another module. GL

Ronnie,

If it's the red car, the ignition module and coil are both new Delco pieces.
