I am currently using the RCC bump steer correction kit on my 87 GT. Once I lowered it I noticed that on the hwy the rear of the car seems to want to steer! It will wiggle if I try to over correct but will drive ok if I relax and go with it. Its a wierd feeling.

Anyone using this kit on a lowered Fiero? It worked GREAT till I lowered the car 1.5 inch all the way around. Yes the car was aligned after.

I guess I will take it off and toss it in the shed but...I hate to waste money.

Oh...one more thing, found an 88 GT w/ auto and 130k on it today. Headlights are up and white paint is faded from neglect. Asked the owner about it and noticed that it didnt have a wing but did have performance sound and a switch on the drivers right seat bolster. I have been around alot of fieros but I dont remember seeing that switch on one b4.... some kinda power seat? Lady says its got a $300 lien on it but I may be able to get it....keep ya posted.

Funny, I've been fighting a wander on my 86 with the stock arms. It's like you are being blown around by the wind. Very subtle, but there. It's been aligned three times. We've tried some varying settings and it gets better, but never goes away. Everything in the suspension, steering and tires have been replaced. You name it, it's new. I will guarentee you that whatever you name has been replaced. Only the space-frame is the same.

Still wanders. Not bushings, not cradle mounts, not rack, not bearings, not tie-rods (inner or outer), not tires, not steering column, not shocks, not bearing caps, not brakes, not front suspension mounts, not motor mounts, not alignment, not, not, not....

It sounds like you've added the bump-steer kit and your's is doing the same thing. Mine is not roll-over steer or bump steer.

My car had the same "wiggle" the first time I had it aligned a few years ago. I found a shop by me that used the laser set-up instead if the lights and mirrors. Now the car is fine. The other thing is the older machine's have the old settings. You need to use the newer ones. I think Ogre has the Tech Service Bulletin that lists the new specs. When I compared my old to the new there are differences.
Also after I lowered my car I noticed I needed lower profile tires with stiffer sidewalls.

BV Motorsports, If you really want to take them off, Let me know how much you want for them, I'd be interested!
On the 88, the switch is for the "power lumbar" on the seat. It was only available on the 88's. It's a small bladder that adjusts the seat near your lower back.

Run a search,,, I posted the revised specs here awhile back... The Only change I remember right now is that Rear toe should be 0 on 84-87. I don't have the specs for 88.

Mine gets the wind blown but I know the struts are toast. Shocks are soso... Handles ok the rest of the time.

As far as the RCC kit... you need to talk to them.... I expect it's probably going to need alteration to work on a lowered car.

It's been aligned manually (bubble gauge. Amazinly accurate), mirror system and laser system. Old specs, new specs, made up specs. Running 0 toe in the rear and -1/2 degree rear camber seems to be the best.

Nope.

I will look around and see if I can find my last alignment spec sheet. I have the life time alignment with sears (NTB) and boy....they messed up by selling my that!
1 alignment b4 and autoX and then 1 right after! Gotta love it.

I'm in the same boat...New tie rods, springs, rear sway bar, shocks/struts, poly cradle bushings but add lowering springs and bang....just like you said "like your in a cross wind". I think I will swap back to the stock tie rod and get it aligned again and see if that fixes it.

If anyone is interested, I'll sell the RCC for $50.

If Paul passes, I'd be interested in the RCC kit as well.

BV MotorSports,

Do you still have the RCC anti-bump steer kit for sale?

I haven't heard from you.

Paul
