Okay, 1985 2M4 with a 5 speed, the
clutch just stoped working one day?
after the hydrolic thing on the tranny it pushes out about 1/4" and is already sticking aout about 1-2" the clutch is constinly disengaged and will not engage so i have to start it in gear ro move it, cant shift...

If the clutch won't engage, how does starting it in gear help? Unless you mean it won't disengage, in which case you might need to bleed your hydraulic system, or replace some parts, the worst case being it might need a new clutch...

Okay, clutch will not disengage, it worked good then just stoped working like when i went to move it again... it never slipped or anything the slave cylinder pushes about 1/4 inch out and thats it. the bracket thing it pushes that goes into the tranny/clutch... I bleed the system many times and it is full right now. to engage the clutch what way is the slave sylinder suppost to move? how far should it move? how far should the piston be sticking out? HELP?!

Hey I had the same problem this past week. blead the slave system as normal, after about 5 times have the person helping you get out of the car. Next go to the engine compartment and remove the bleader from the slave cylinder. Pull the clutch arm toward the driver side strut tower. Hold this in place while the other person replaCES THE BLEADER AND tightens it up. release the clutch arm and refill the resevoir. it should work fine then. If not chect to see if the clutch pedal got bent some how. good luck.

I'm having similar problems, except mine is a 86 1/2 GT V6 with Getrag 5 speed. Put in new Master and Slave, and relubed all the moving parts on the selector stuff, (Car was idle in storage for 4 years)

It's been bleed to the last air bubble and feels like it's trying to engage the clutch, but not sure if it's a stiff shifter arm thingy on the backside of the clutch housing (the thing that the slave pushes on)

A few hints people dropped me were that I should lube up that shifter piece so will give that a try.
