I'm almost ready to whip out the visa and begin to order parts for my V8 swap to resurrect my '86. While searching the web for engine possibilities I came across this company:
http://www.bluechipmotor.com/longblocks.html

If you scroll down, you'll see the 350 longblock for $589.00 plus a $250.00 core charge. Now I do know that this isn't exactly a "performance" engine straight from the company, but I am one to tinker and would be replacing parts once the budget expands.

How does this particular engine sound? Also, I remember a company called, "PAW" from my '67 Camaro days. Do they have a web address?

According to a few recent buildups in Hot Rod magazines, these types of short blocks are perfectly adequate for mild output applications, even in the 300hp range. PAW has a web site, but there is no online catalogue or ordering. You need to refer to their print catalogue for details.
