I bought the whole front end from Ryane Motorsports.Upper and lower tubular control arms, coilover shocks.I also bought coilover struts for the rear. These are the specs from the computer alignment.
left front right front
.3* camber .1*
6.9* caster 7.4*
.15* toe .12*
4.7* SAI 5.1*
5.0* included angle 5.1*
Front
cross camber .2*
cross caster -.5*
total toe .26*
Now I read these specs to Darryl at Ryanes and he said that 6* is what he recommends. The car will handle ok and will turn corners ok.My front end man said the car would be unstable at higher speeds.
How about some help from the alignment experts out there.

I assume 6* is takling about caster. I would agree that 6* would be sufficient. If your concerned about stability at high speeds you will have to worry more about tires, pressure, wind, road surface and small animals on the road first before that little caster. I have never seen any other GM vehicle with a spec this high. most are arount 3.5 to 5*

I got the specs for the alignment from this forum and they call for the caster to be between 2.5 to 3.5 degrees. My left front caster is 6.9 degrees and the right is 7.4 degrees.I'm not too concerned about high speed stability on the road(I don't drive that fast on the road),but when I get this car done I intend to take it to the drag strip.Basically I just want it to be as good as it can be.I haven't spared any expense on this suspension and want it right.

The specs i have for an 84-87 caster are 3.0-7.0 with 5.0 being perfect and for an 88 2.5-3.5.

Don't know about setup on the '88s,but the older cars seem to like 5-7 degrees of caster.

According to GM shop manual 88 caster is 3 degrees for coupe and 5 degrees for GT and formula.
