I'm looking at an 86 Fiero SE 6 cyl that a guy is trying to sell, but is sitting on his hands now and has for a year or so. He wants too much and I think he owes. The VIN is 1G2PF3790GP204354. If someone has Carfax will they run it and give me results? Thx, Ed.

You can get a sort of Carfax by logging on the web site and entering the VIN #. The report you ill get will tell you if the car has a clean title, but not all the details. To get the official Carfax report, you have to subscribe to the service for $20 or so for 3 months.

Carfax will tell you the date a lein was recorded for the car in some states, but it wont tell you if the lein has been paid off or not.

Been there done that, that's why I'm here. It's actually 20 bucks for 60 days. I just wondered if anyone is currently registered.

Appreciate it Vlad. I wonder if there's a way I can learn who the lean holder is, if a current lean holder exists. The car was donated to an organization and they were trying to sell it for $2500, which is way too high. Anyway, the car has sat in the parking lot for about a year collecting dust as the president of the group refuses my offers. I'm thinking there is an open lein on the car and the organization is trying to get the lein amount plus whatever. The tags ran out in October, 2000, so the info you gave makes perfect chronological sense. The liars tried telling me the car is a one owner. It could be, but it sounds as if the car has had a couple of leins against it, so that would generally refute the one owner claim.
