Hey, has anybody put a 426 Hemi in a fiero? I think that would be sweet to see and hear. I just heard somebody is trying to put a Vipers v10 in a fiero. So, I figured why not ask. Personally I love that engine, the 426 hemi rules. Well, hell how about a 402? not that I'm thinking of putting something this big in the fiero...but it could be cool.
But I was wondering because I mean somebody is putting a Viper's v-10 in a fiero and tons of people put 350s in and northstars, etc. Figured why not. That car would be so fast it would be insane. Only problem is that it is a 60 degree engine, so on that aspect it would fit but it is also a big block engine, so that makes it a lot bigger. Oh well, it could be a fun car if one did fit.
I haven't heard of anyone putting putting a Hemi in a fiero, you would have to probably put it in longitudinally though. There's supposed to be someone who lives about 20 mins away from me that has a Fiero with a 500 cad motor in it
Nette. I wish I had a 421, I doubt that I would put it in my Fiero, but it is possible.

Hi, That engine was a work of art! My Dad has a 426 Hemi 4 speed 66 Dodge Charger and that thing is AWESOME! I would love to see one in a Fiero. The only problem is the weight and the trans. Still an awesome idea. Let me know if anyone is trying to do this.

Well, the weight isn't as big of an issue as it could be considering that the car is mid engine, but it would have to be angled down infront of the transaxle to keep the weight of the engine infront of the transaxle. I imagine that it would cause some problems for the deck lid, but hey, sacrifices for power. Ya I love that engine. They are so fast it's scary. HEMI RULES!
Ive worked a lot with hemis. first its just too huge to fit unless you stretch chassis. If you havent looked carefully ,its over 4 feet wide. then you have the prob of finding a trans to fit thatll take the torque. I dont know of any fwd tranny that will without disintegrating. If you did manage to do both of the above, youde have so much weight bias to the rear, youd have to put 100# of lead in front facia to steer it. Biggest Ive seen was a friends Countach replica. he had a Porsche transaxle with a 454 chevy 4bbl. it was longitudinal with frame stretch. I wouldnt drive it again after the first time. It was like driving on ice. Theres a guy in town that has a Cobra replica with a Viper V-10. Its called 'Double Venom'.

It would work, but only longitudinally, I would guess. I've seen a 455 mounted that way in a Fiero, so just about any V8 should fit once the length issue is resolved. Don't think it would be possible transverse. I think a tri-power 455 (or 428HO!) would be so perfect in a Fiero.

Gary Zumalt used to claim that his Chevy V-8 kit (no longer in production) would also mount a big-block, in the stock (more or less) location. Seems like I even saw a pic of one, in an '85 issue of Hot Rod. Of course they didn't specify how much hammering had to be done to the firewall or trunk. A Hemi!?! It would probably leave the ground. Showering tranny parts as it went.
