Wade'87GT posted a question last Sunday about replacing his clutch line. I think it's too late to respond to his problem since he ordered all the parts.
I had a similar problem - the braided part by the slave cylinder wore through and started leaking. After looking into GM's high prices, I went to a wrecking yard. I got a line from another FIero. Well, ther ARE very tricky to install. I broke it while trying to put it in. Then I came up with a different idea. You can remove the old line in pieces, if you want. Then cut off the tube part on back / front (about 2" will do). Go to a truck shop (big rig). They make all kinds of brake lines, etc. Looking at the end pieces they determined the correct diameter. After I gave them the desired length, they installed the ends on a steel braided line - front-to-back. It took about 45 minutes. Installation was A BREEZE! (the WHOLE thing's flexible!) Looks great and no more problems!! And the best part was the price. About $75.00 CDN ($50 US?)
FOR ANYONE WHO RUNS INTO THE SAME PROBLEM (or just wants the looks of steel-braided) - this is way cheaper and much quicker than ordering a new part.
