Hey guys...I've been on here a while and I haven't seen to many posts on nitrous...whats the deal??? Good for the car? Bad for the Car?

The general consensus seems to be that the Duke(4cyl) isn't a good candidate for nitrous. It just isn't an especially durable engine to begin with, and adding nitrous is asking for it. If you've got another car to drive, it might be entertaining to slap some nitro on it and see what it does, but use it sparingly if you must.

I've also heard that the 84 dukes were the weakest ones in fieros. Something with the rods. I've been thinking about putting a small shot on my 88coupe. But I have no idea where to begin if I do at all. Has anyone ever even tried nitro on a 4cyl? I thought I read something a while back about someone blowing a duke up with it... hehe

I think they're aren't any more NOS questions anymore because everyone was informed to use the SEARCH function. Have you seen all the posts on nitrous? Holy crap! Anyway, I believe it was Xtreme Fieros that had NOS on his duke (84 SE). Yep, blew the crap out of it. I also believe that it was a large amount of NOS put into the engine. 200 HP to be exact. That's more than twice the original HP. The only safe amount would probably be 50 or less HP. Let me check out to see if I'm right...

I don't have NOS on a 4 banger but I do have N20 on my built V-6. I've only got it jetted for a 70 HP shot,but If I launch wrong all I get Is smoke. It's a Auto tranny and will chirp them into second.

Actually, I never called you stupid. No offense, but if you did it right, you will find at least 100 posts with 'nitrous' in it somewhere. Look in all categories.
