ive searched in the archives and cant find anything in there one installing a sunroof WITHOUT swapping roofs. i wouldnt have a problem changing my roof except i dont want to paint it right away. not may yellow fieros in the local yards, let alone with a sunroof. now i know i can find about 25 of them that are in good shape but on different colored cars. if this canbe done. what parts do i need? TIA

The only sunroof you can install without swapping roof panels are aftermarket ones.
The "sunroof" roofs are molded with the channel between the seal and the roof.
Just buy one and have the roof painted. Then after it is painted do the swap.

As far as the frame is concerned, all Fieros were slated for sunroofs (except the t top models). Changing the outer skin should be about all that is nec, the frame itself already has the "hole" in it.

the aftermarket sunroofs look just like aftermarket stuff. Id change the roof, may not even cost as much as an aftermarket one installed. Youll be lots happier with result. If you need to paint a new roof, you can do it with a spray can temporarily. Their isnt that much roof left with sunroof in it.

I agree w/roger. When I bought my Fiero it came with an aftermarket sunroof and it looked like a cross between a porthole and an R/V window.

I opted back to a hardtop roof, but if I had decided on keeping a sunroof then I'd swap it for a factory one. I would think a good bodyshop should be able to match the yellow pretty good.

Here's another idea. Find a black one.
It won't look bad then you can get it painted later. (Actually there are some that like the roof piece black, I've seen many at carshows)
