Hmmm what muffiler should I get for the Caddy engine i am putting in mine?? I'm gonna be running to cadilatic converters and a H pipe somewhere in there.. I want a deep powerful tone (well as much as i can get out of a Caddy anyways )
well what i did was take my exhuast off from the cat back, then i cut the flowmaster, and then i cut my pipes, and then i took my pieces to the muffler shop and they welded it in place, and the sound is great, good luck,ALAL

My 3.8 sounded great with the 80 series Flowmaster and Catco high-flow converter. I don't think there is a bolt-in replacement for the Fiero from Flowmaster, at least not for dual exit. They all require some custom work to be fitted.
Kyle, If you're using the 4.9 liter engine, it sounds about the same as a small block Chevy, they have the same firing order. I'll be using a Flowmaster 80 with mine.
I don't know about how a Flowmaster muffler will sound, but I just bought an '85 GT with the cat removed and a Cherry Bomb/Glaspack muffler installed in it's place. DAMN, it sounds nice. Rev it up then let off and you can hear that "V8" burble. I could wet my pants just thinking about it.
you know everyone says you need custom work to install the 80 series flowy in a fiero,it's to big or another, well i've got this muffler in my 86 gt and there was no custom nothing involved to install the muffler,so believe the people who don't have it in ther car or someone who does, like me! but this muffler fits and installs easy.

Al, as far as I know, the 80 series is only available with 2.5" and 3" pipe sizes, the Fiero pipes are 2". The body length of the 80 series must be about 6" longer as well. I did install one in a Fiero and it was worth the effort, but it is not what I would call a bolt-on replacement. I think it's more work than most people are willing (or able) to do in their garage. Cutting, welding, and mating pipes of different diameters sure sounds like custom work to me.

You know, you can wire feed weld a muffler without any problems or leaks if you are careful. Been there done that. You can rent a welder machine for $20-$30 a day from Home Depot. Going from 2" to 2.5" is no big deal. There are adapators you can use for $2.99 a piece from Pep Boys. What I want to see is a picture of this 80 series muffler so I can get an idea how to make it fit into my car. I wasn't able to see any of the 80 series on the flowmaster site. I will look again.
I bought the 40 series Flowmaster from West Coast Fiero. As I recall. it was arond $125 (they make some modifications). I'm very happy with the performance and sound, but not happy with all the commotion I caused when we first brought up the group discount from WCF's !! bb
Not this one... he bought the Grape Ape (another 85 GT) near Chicago a year ago. He bought this GT from me... in S.W. Ohio. I bought it last September in Robards, KY.
