Hi Fierophiles!
My 1984 Fiero has some broken/cracked body panels. The drivers side front and rear fenders, and the passenger side door are all damaged.
The fenders are cracked and it seems like they could be repaired with some kind of "bondo-analog" but I have no idea what to use. I can get a front fender from the Fiero Store, but I haven't seen anyone selling the rear fender or passenger door. My car is white.
Any ideas???

Cracks can be repaired with epoxy, reinforced with fiberglass cloth; however -- unless you are good at bodywork and have more time than money -- it may be worthwhile to buy salvage parts from a self-service yard or a local Fiero nut. Front fenders are fairly easy to replace, as are rear lower quarters. Upper rear fender is part of the top/rear clip. I haven't changed one of those yet.

3M makes a special hard plastic repair kit. has 2 tubes u mix in equal parts. Follow the directions very carefully. You have to make sure there is NO paint where you put it and let it dry overnite before you sand on it, even though it says 30 min on label. I use it all the time in my shop on plastic bumpers, fenders, etc.

The stuff you use is called FMC
You tell the guy at the paint place your
repairing a Fiero or a Saturn, The guy that
sold me my repair stuff told me when
ever repairing this plastic you do two things

1... You put a diamond around the crack
with a die grinder, this allows the plastic
to flex and not crack.

2... when your done with the repair before primer and paint. you hit the repaired
suface with the palm of your hand. If it
recracks you didn't mix the stuff properly.
If it sustains the impact you mixed it correct, I had never repaired a Fiero before
but I found it easier then Fiberglass.

And the guy that painted my car is PPG Certified and his oppinion was with a little
patience and some minor guidence it's easier then Metal.

By the way I had a crack in the door
a crack in the front fender and a corner chiped out of the driverside door.
So far 6 months later and know whitness of
bad body work.
