I have had trouble the last week or so,with my1986 v6 gt.Most of the time it will start right up as always.I drive it somewhere park, leave it a few hours, and it want even try to start. It turns over strong but will not try to fire.I leave it overnight and it starts right up.Its never done anything like this before.Once it starts it runs great.Any ideas would be helpful.

This happened to me once in my old Mercury Tracer. Drove me nuts. It was apparently getting fuel, and enough juice to turn over. So I thought that when my coil was warmed up the coils shorted and didn't have enough spark. Then when they cooled off the short was gone and I was back to delivering pizzas. I replaced it and it worked fine after that.

Replace the module in the distributor. When they start to "go" they become very heat sensitive. Be sure to use silicone compound on the back for proper heat transfer and cooling.
