I have recently just put the engine back in my car (85 Iron duke, 5spd) and can't get it to even try to fire.. I've read the manual, but I'm still kind of iffy on the whole firing order. If I'm looking at it from the back of the car, where should the number 1 cylinder terminal be on the distributor? upper right, left, or lower right left. Also, the number one cylinder is on the very right of the car right (still looking at it from the back) and the firing order is 1342? I just feel a little iffy about the whole "Whcih wire goes to where on the distributor". Thanks!

Johnny,

The book(s) I have indicate that with the distributor installed, #1 is to the far left (9 O'CLOCK POSITION) next, going clockwise is #3 (in the firing order),#4 then #2.
Hope this helps.

Aha.. Figured out my problem for this one two. When the number 1 cylinder was at TDC, the number 2 cylinder was getting spark, etc... Fixed that, along with my TBI that just pours fuel out (even when the car is off) and I think I should have a winning combination
