Is there any way to tell what a tranny is 4 spd.-4:10 gear...4spd-higher gear...5spd Isuzu....5 spd Getrag.

Like a number code or anything ?????

If you're talking about an identifying number on the vehicle, the sticker in front compartment has a code that tells you what the car's OE transaxle is/was.

If you're comparing transaxles in a yard (not in the car), the physical features, such as shifter cable bracketry and backup light switch location provides clues. Don't know much about any ID tags on the Fiero transaxles.

I am attempting to identify trannys that are out of the car.......has anyone got pics of say a Getrag...a Isuzu....a Muncie four speed...for comparison...or is there a parts code for each of these respective trannys ?
