I need to replace the 2 rubber transmission line hoses on my 86 gt. Is there a special brand/type/quality of hose that I should be buying. Any specific pressure rating that I should be concerned with (or anything else for that matter!)? Also, do I need to drain the trans fluid 1st (if only a small amount of fluid will be lost I won't bother removing the pan, but, if it's going to spray out I'd rather drain the fluid).

Most suppliers will have auto trans cooler line. It seems to be a little stiffer than the same size fuel hose. If not, some power steering return hose will also work.

you can change the line without worrying about the fluid.

Thanks Terry, I've found a package of transmission cooler line at the local auto parts store.

Theorge, glad I don't have to drain the fluid. I was worried that I'd be taking a bath in the stuff if I disconnected the hose!
