I opened my air intake assembly and there was oil in there. Also when it is running there seems to be smoke inside the engine. The smoke goes into the air assembly from the little hose from the valve cover. There is NO smoke in my exhaust though. Anyone have any ideas why this is doing this... any more info I need to let you know?
Thanks for your help!
Bro outt!!!

it's oil from the heads, nothing too bad, just the signs of an older engine. fixing it would be rather expencive for a small problem, unless you're going to get the engine overhauled some time soon. Just check you're oil level when ever you get gas.

It's called blow-by and it means worn-out piston rings. There is a very tiny, slim chance that the PCV valve is bad and is siphoning oil into the cleaner housing, but usually and unfortunately, it means the beginning of the end of a engine. Better start checking your oil regularly, because it will be burning more and more as time goes on. You'll also have to replace the air filter more aften. Time for a rebuild.

First thing I'd do is replace the PCV valve, they're cheap and their job is to suck those engine blow-by vapors out of the crankcase. If they quit working, the blow-by pressure will backup the tube to the air cleaner. The reason that tube is there is to draw in filtered air into the crankcase to replace what the PCV sucked out.

But this still don't mean the engine's not getting worn. (Heck, my Duke has 150,000 miles on it, I'm SURE it's worn!!! LOL)

I had oil in the aircleaner too.

I Changed the PCV valve at the end of that little hose that runs to the valvecover. Remove the valve and shake it, it should be easy to make it rattle if it's a good one. Mine was bunged up pretty bad

Easy $2.00 fix, just make sure when you put it in that you get the direction correct, it only works in one way, but I think it's "fool proofed" in a way so you can't. Hope this helps...
