I recently replaced my bushings with the Prothane Polys and now they're squeeking. It seems to be mostly the left front, which is the side they did all the adjustment to for the alignment. Is there a spray lube that will take care of this or do I have to pull the arms and regrease them. I think the guys that aligned the car wiped the silicone grease off when the were doing there adjustments. LMK.

Thanks, BAM OUT!

My poly bushings squeek when it is really cold out, or I go over speed bumps rather quickly. I think my problem though, is that I didn't put enough grease on the bushings at install. I still had half a tube left after the bushings were in. The passenger side squeeks, that was the first side it did, and used the grease very sparingly since I didn't know how much I would need. The driver side is silent. I had so much left, I put the grease on pretty heavily when I did that side.

I am interested in a cheap easy fix for my passenger side squeeking, but have never seen anything. Anybody know of anything?

You would think there would be a setup for a zerk fitting to be put into the mix so they could be lubed with a grease gun, but I don't know what the set up looks like so I'm talking out of my a$$.

There is a spray penatrating grease on the market. The repairman that replaced my garage door spring gave me a can but I haven't seen it for sale anywhere.

Try one of the teflon loaded spray oils. Duralube, I think, is the one I have. That may help.

The reality is you'll probly have to tear them apart to install zerk fittings so you can grease them periodicaly. no matter how much grease you put in to start they will eventually need more.

To install the fitting you have to remove the inner sleeve. then you drill a hole thru the shell and the bushing. tap the hole for the zerk and put in the fitting. make sure you choose a spot for the zerk where it won't hit anything but you can still get to it with everything bolted in place.

For grease later you can hand pack one of those little toy like grease guns with silicone brake grease. One filling of the gun should last several years. The guns cost 10-15 dollars max. (Unless you get it a Sears.)

look at the ball joints or tie rod ends. Those grease ports are zerk fittings. They come in straight 90* and 45* configurations.

You have to get the right tap for the hole. It's tapered pipe thread not a straight thread like a bolt. It's so small tho that a straight thread might be ok.

you should be able to get these almost anyplace. car parts stores, farm supply, anyhting like that. They are often available in a kit with a bunch of fittings and the tap(s). (there's a couple sizes of thread.) These get broken or plugged up all the time in farm stuff.
