My V-6 is running right above 220 is this normal?

I would say thats a little warm. It should run around 195 with stock thermostat. your fan may not be comming on, check It.

mine runs around 180 on the highway and 220 after about 10 minutes in traffic

wow, mine runs nice and cool then -- 120 to 160 -- and has never overheated
