OK hereis one for all you 4 banger experts.
The '84 iron Duke has a wedge shaped pice of metal in the intake right below the TBI. Is this a "restrictor plate" or a device to direct air and fuel into the head? I installed my Holley TBI but got it used with no instructions. The books I have do not mention the said pise of metal. I await the wisdom of the forum.

It's not a restrictor. I believe it's there to improve air flow to #'s 1 & 4. There's no really usefull info about it.

You may have to remove it if it blocks the new TBI throttle plate. Otherwise leave it.
