I need a little help. I am installing my new eibachs and can't figure out how to get them on. I removed the control arms and replaced the bushings with polys and now I am having trouble installing my lowering springs. It seemed like it would be straight forward but it's giving me HE11. Can somebody please help? TIA, TIA!

Thanx, BAM OUT!

The wonders of a factory service manual.

If you mean the front, you have to install the top over the top tube, drop the lower control arm as low as possible (almost vertical) and then get a friend to help you compress the spring and push it over the lower CA tube.

I didn't have a friend so I sat on the ground and used both feet to push the spring. It rose up over the lower tube/cone and into place.

Now once there, it wants to pop out so have a jack ready to lift the control arm from across the street. Ok, a bit melodramatic.

When you start lifting the arm the spring will compress. Connect the bottom ball joint and then the top.

If it's the rears it's normal strut technique.

Thanks TerryK. That is exactly what I did. Although I didn't have anyone to help me I got it done. The lowering springs aren't as long as the stock springs so once the control arm was near vert it wasn't all that hard for me to push it up and over by myself. The jack came in handy too. After several near misses trying to get the lower ball joint started manually, I went ahead and used the jack. Every thing is looking great, tomorrow I have to buy a pair of tierod ends, these are shot. Then it's on to the back, that shouldn't be so hard; not as complicated.

Thanx again, BAM OUT!
