Ok the bushings in my dogbone on my 88 Formula are history...I did buy another dogbone at NAPA...it appears to be the same size as the 86's...but a bit longer than the 88. Can I still use it? Or will that throw everything off...did the 88's use a shorter dogbone?

I think they're supposed to be the same length all five years... but I do know the 4 cyl. has a longer one than the v-6.
How much longer is "a bit", by the way? -If it's like an inch or something... I don't think so.

what happened to your old dogbone? if the bushings were worn out, get the poly urethane bushing kit... its simple, cheap, and makes all the difference in the world!

Well it appears to be about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch longer than on my 86's...wonder if it'll still work. Also, the Fierostores replacement bushings are for 85-86s....says they wont work on 88s....hmmm

read the article about the automatic tranny in the cave. follow the link at the bottom of this page. it describes the two styles of strut. both are the same lenght.

All 4 cyl fiero take the same legnth strut as far as I know.

That dogbone WONT work! It will push your engine at an odd angle that will be noticable to anyone who looks at it! Mine came with one and I had a hell of a time figuring it out until I got one out of junk Fiero and compared, 1/4 inch make a HUGE difference! Get urethane when you get the correct length. That particular dog bone most likely went to a 2.8 V6 just not a FIERO 2.8.

Good luck to you!

I kept breaking the OEM dogbone on mine, bought the tube, powdercoated one from Fierostore with urathane bushings for $50 and its working fine for last 7 months...and it looks pretty all red n black...and no more clunking from rear of car.
