Hi gmata. I have one of these cars. I have not yet found much history on them. The kit was rumored to be made somewhere in PA., but I'm not sure where.
I was told that they are long since defunct. The fiberglass panels are not exactly first rate, and tend to crack and seperate. But, the look of the door panels and rear clip is quite distinctive. I sent you an e-mail with a few pics and maybe someone here knows a little more and will be able to fill us in with a little more info.
I rented the movie too, but there was always some actor blocking my view of the car :-))
