Question for all the geniuses here.

I have always been under the impression that all steering racks from all years are interchangeable(I just put an '84 rack in an '87 with no problem). But, I was talking with a guy who needs a rack for an '88 and he is sure the '84-'87 racks won't work. Will they? If they will, that opens up many more options for him. If not, anybody have a rack for an '88 they would like to sell?

I was just staring at the two. They mount differently and there is no dampener on the 88.
