stuff to try. can you hear the washer pump working with some one holding the switch? no puddles from a broken hose? got a meter to see if you have voltage to pump when switched on? maybe switch feels different (broken)?

Is it completely dead, or does it just work very poorly? Do you have a shop manual yet?

100 bucks says it's the pump. Look at the tank and you will see a black tubular thing sticking out of it with hoses attatched to it. This just twists out. If you don't have/can't find another one I have one I know works I will give you.

Mine went dead on my 84 fiero, so i just guessed thats what was wrong with it. I went to the junkyard and pulled one from a fiero, there is no screws holding it. Payed a couple of bucks and mine is back to normal.

Holy cow- you went to a junk yard for a washer motor? These are srandard GM issue...Autozone sells 'em for $8. And thyere held in by a grommet. 15 second repair...everything on this car should be that easy...like the dew wipes for instance.

I have this problem too, my washer doesn't seem to work at all. When I press the switch I can't hear anything. I replaced the pump but I think the problem may be a lack of power. The under hood light doesn't work either, are they on the same circuit ? Is their something else on the same cicuit ?.
My car has lots of electrical problems. The power trunk release, oil pressure gauge, license plate lights and trunk lights all don't work either. A friend gave me a multimeter but how do I use it to test for power ? or if the wiring is broken ?
