I'm not talking about the sailpanels, I'm talking about the lower rear quarter panels. I'm putting side scoops on to replace the org. ones

You will still have to remove the sail panels to get to the lower panels. The door jamb edge goes all the way up on the panels I've seen and it has 1 bolt under the sail panel.

You do not need to remove the quarter windows. Remove the moulding and there are some rivets that need to be drilled out under there. Also you will need to take the ground effects out as there are rivets there also. As far as thinkig that there is a rivet under the glass there is none.

Fieroshop is correct. I just replaced mine about a month ago. You do not need to remove the sail panels. Its fairly easy to do i believe you have to remove about 6 rivits from the panel, fit the new one up and re-rivet it into place.

got 'em. since i was taking off all of one side some of it you may not need. i'll try to edit it right.

take off back wheels or do one at a time depending on how you jack it up.remove rear wheelhouse panel. i didn't take mine all the way out. i unscrewed screws and rivets far enough to reach behind fender panel. those wierd push pull retainers it says pull out center and then pry around edge with screwdriver to remove. mine looked like small screws that you unscrewed so far then pry out. broke at least half of them but got more at pep boys.

i removed my rocker panel. i don't know if you have to take the whole thing off to do this but you will have to remove at least the back couple of rivets. to take off the whole thing open door and pop up 3 cover plates in rocker panel and drill out rivets under each one.also about 7 rivets going along the bottom of the rocker panel. maybe you can start from the back, pop a rivet, try to remove panel, then pop another if you can't. i don't have a gt but you also need to take off rocker extension on panel you are removing, possibly after you have it off but i can't tell you much more than it says remove it.

the black mid body strip has the push- pull type retainers at the front and back (open door to see front, back in fender well. kind of tricky part, there is a clip in the middle that you remove by slipping in a thin blade tool from the top to disengage (dose that make sence? i'm looking at a picture that explains it but i don't know how well it reads. you may need a manual or something with disassembly instrutions). there is another clip at the rear that wasn't needed for me. it says pull on strip from front and let clip break 'cause it is not needed. i think maybe for you it is so you may have to be more carefull or replace it once you get it off.

take off air inlet grill, 2 screws. the panel itself has about 5 rivets to be removed.

that should be it. you should be able to slip the fender panel out from under sail panel by pulling it toward the front of the car.

long post. hope this makes sence and helps. can't really help you with assembly since i was actually putting on something else, so i leave with those imfamous words; "assembly is reverse of removal".

Thanks for the tips,The quarter windows won't be a problem, I already have the old ones off and ready to install the new ones I got from Doug at the Fiero Warehouse. If I ever get the scoops, I can install them and get the car painted.

BTW-Doug's 1/4 windows look GREAT there is no difference between them and the stock ones.
