Am removing the door panel to replace dew strips. I totally hosed the door retainers even with a removal tool (that's a different problem). I've got the door panel off and can remove the innner dew strip. To remove the outer strip I have Rodney"s tool but cannot get the window to move far enough to start the srews out. Do I have to remove all the other metal covers on the inside of the door? Help stuck.

If you look at the top of the door you will see that there is an inside dew strip, That strip is held by a metal strip which also holds the glass stationary. I believe that it is held by several 7mm screws. Remove them and you will ne able to move the glass out far enough to be able to use the tool.

Correct...your gonna have to get that out then you'll be able to gently push against the glass to get to the outer strip screws. Make sure the window is up all the way. This is the position it must be in for you to get enough space to get down in there.

If someone experianced in replaceing the dew wipes would be kind enough to do a small write up I'd include it with my dew strip tool. : )
