I saw a 2M4 Fiero at the junk yard the other day with a 5 speed trans in it. What type of trans is that in the car, an Isuzu?

Say what????? It was a 4 cylinder.
But the tranny looked different than the 5 speed Isuzu in my 87 coupe. The shift cables were thinner and came in at a different angle.

The Isuzu 5sp has a separate bolt on aluminium casting that the shift arm goes into, also both shift cables are on top. The Getrag has the shaft(almost vertical) going through the main housing. The 5sp Getrags have a stamped steel plate on the end oppsite from the bell housing. Also one shift cable on top and one on the left side
