I have an 84 fiero SE 4 cyl. It drive's very nice and i love the car. i have it just for fun. it misses one thing POWER !!!!!

I want to build a Quad 4 HO engine into the fiero with a turbo. i think that will do the job to get more power. Is there anyone out there who has tried the same? and did you succeed ?

I know the al the facts and in the past i build an turbo on a 81' mustang that performed very good (until my waist gate got stuck and had a pressure of 1,5 bar, it was the fastest 0 to 100 km ever but also the last.

i am searching for company's that supply an kit to swap the engine or whatever suggestion.......... ( it has to be a four cylinder because in the netherlands they wont' accept a V8, i tried that )

digital wizard,

I wouldn't advise putting anything that adds pressure to a Quad 4.

They have problems just holding the head gasket under normal running ... turbo or supercharging would make the problem worst!

The ACE turbo HO Quad 4 I have seen blew it's head gasket in ONE run! It did go fast ... for a little while. That engine never ran right after that.

Do some poking around. There are a fiew Quad's with Eaton M-62's on them. Might be easier to install. Just build a new intake to sit the blower on.

The HO's are 10:1-ish, I admit that's very high for boost. Bet you can't run more than 6-8 of advance.

I owned one of ACE's turbo quad 4 "abortions". I bought it from a guy who literally spent over $25000 on the car. It was an '85 GT and had the Ryane slalom 1 coilover setup with an '88 cradle/rear suspension along with the Wilwood 12" brakes. It out handled and out stopped almost every car out there, but the engine was the weak link. Not more than 2 weeks after buying it the turbo died. I replaced the turbo and within a month I had burnt a piston....leaned it out. The quality (if you can call it that) of the ACE conversion was severely lacking. I would highly recommend AGAINST using their products and definitely against them touching your car.

I sold that car to a mechanic at the Fiero Factory in Alabama (Jeremy), so if you see it think of me

He has since installed a stock V-6 and it runs & drives like it should....man I miss that car!
