The IAC is located on the throttle body down and left of the TPS. It has a 4-wire square connector and a large nut to remove it. I'm nut sure of the size but I think it's an inch or so. I could find nothing in an '86 Factory service manual that says the TPS has to be adjusted. I know some other cars where it has to be adjusted (GM 2.0L in sunbirds) but nothing about the Fiero 4cyl or 6cyl.

The ones ive bought, needed adjustment on my other cars and the 2.8 my mom has. You need to get a multimeter and check the voltage. Most of the tps are held in by torx or screws. Screw the torx in tight but your able to move it. Check the voltage with the key on, and move the tps until you get the right voltage. You should move it to get between .45 to 1.25 volts. After that you tighten those two torx and turn the throttle blade"generic term where the accelerator cable is connected" and pull on it to get full throttle and the voltage should be 4.5. The positive wire should be pushed in the darkblue wire. And ground the other one.
