Do the 88 cars, specifically the Formula, have the power window harness installed as part of the standard wiring? Or is it a separate harness?

I'm pretty sure all power window harnesses are wrapped in the sheithing with the cross car harness. I just pulled one out of an 86.

If the Formula has the power window harness already installed I couldn't find it when I converted mine.

The only harness I have ever seen that was there when the car was not equiped with the option was the trunk release. But any of the stuff is easy to install. I now have every option available on my car including the vanity mirror on both visors

Okay, maybe it was specific to an 86. Friend of mine just parted out an 86. SE, I think. Didn't have power windows, but had the plugs, under the console, and apparently the rest of the harness. My 88 coupe didn't. Thanks, guys!

Maybe someone unpowered his windows in the past???

Could be an assembly line screw up too.

I'm getting an '85 GT with p/windows. Will it also have the wiring for p/mirrors? I know it's a separate harness, but is it there? I already have the p/mirror heads although I just gave away the switch and mounting console. I don't need p/mirrors as I'm the only one driving my Fiero (too low for my wife and I wouldn't trust many others) but they would still be cool to have.

The power window wire harness is a seperate harness. The power window harness came with or without the power door lock option. Just as the power mirrors or subwolfer wire harness is seperate. The 85-early 86 harnesses were almost the same as 87-88 except for the earlier harnesses had different plug connectors on the power mirror harness and an additional pin switch. As far as I remember the power window harnesses were the same 85-up. If you need a particular harness let me know and we could probably work out a reasonable deal. i have just about everything imaginable buried somewhere in the garage, possibly even the lost ARK.

So are you saying that, if my '85 GT has p/l (which is does, I think), I also have the p/m harness? I have a pair of good p/m heads and I think I could locate the rest of the stuff (Hey, Tom!).

If your car has p/locks it may have p/ window wires, but the p/mirror harness is seperate. Behind the kick panels by the floor lights is a large flat plug that holds, I believe up to 5 wires if all the plug spots are filled the car is wired for p/l and p/w if there are only 2 or three, I don't remember off the top of my head, then the car is wired for locks only. the p/m harness has a plug, when the car is so equipped, that is a small square plug that houses 4 wires. the plug is a clear color on earlier models and black on later models.
