Anyone had any luck repairing an Evolution 4 car cover? Duct tape?!

This is the second one I've ripped. I tried to be careful this time to set a grommet where the antenna goes through, but no luck. Its ripped about two feet over the year or two I've had it. Any fixes?

This won't help now, but might in the future. I'm pretty sure the antenna unscrews from the body. It might be a good idea just to unscrew it everytime you put the cover on. (A power ant is an even cooler idea! ) If you use a grommet (I assume to get a hole for the ant to go through), you'll get water and dirt inside the cover. Just a thought.

That's what I do when I cover both my Fiero (outdoors) and my corvette (garaged).I made an opening for the antenna in my first two covers, and they both ripped at that point.

mutfish--You've got your priorities all wrong. You need to keep the good car (the Fiero, of course) in the garage and keep the Vette outside. While you're at it, you should build your Fiero a new heated, humidity controlled garage. Tile floors, finished walls, a little Fiero night light (just in case it's afraid of the dark) ! And it has to be attached to your house so you can go to your Fiero whenever it needs you without getting dirt on the floor. Maybe I'm getting a little carried away? Where's my medication when I need it most !!

Funny you should mention building the Fiero a garage,...not wanting to leave the freshly painted little gem to fend for itself through the ugly Ohio winter, and having only one "climate controlled" space for two cars,I constructed a "mini" enclosure from inch and a half pvc pipe and covered it with a silver tarp. It's just big enough to drive in and out of,no more,no less.So far it works for me.

That's a great start. But have you considered widening your front door, adding ramps, and just driving the Fiero inside? After all, a Fiero *is* family. (I really like Fieros. Can you tell? )

OK, you have convinced me. I'll build a garage at my workplace to protect my GT. Can you believe a dirt parking lot?!!

Of course, you'll have to pave the parking lot 1st! You don't want to get a bunch of dust and dirt on your car, do you? And make sure that the work garage is heated. And humidity controlled. And secure. You don't want some moronic idiot loser **** to steal your Fiero. My name is Dave and I'm a Fieroholic.

Oops. I forgot that the "J" word was forbidden. The **** was supposed to say J-E-R-K. Somebody remind me again why that's a bad word. It means something in Dutch, right? (Is Dutch a language? Cliff-What language do you speak other than English?)

My cover isn't an evoltion, but I did fix a rip in it with spray adhesive (spray the inside of cover around damage) and a piece of thick felt placed over wet glue. Let it dry and it'll be as good as used!!

Go buy some iron on patches like your mother used to patch the knees of your jeans with when you were a kid. The stuff is tuff as nails and you can't pull it off with pliers if it's ironed on correctly. You can usually find the patches at the grocery store or WalMart or Target. It's about 6" square and comes in colors plus denem.

Hey, I tried that before my previous fix it post! Only had the iron half way and I made it worse! The wife wanted to kill me cause I had car cover all over the iron! Very delicate material, if you do it this way start with lowest setting, especially if it's your wifes iron! LOL!
