Anybody here own a t-top or replaced the t-top P-seals? (it's the felt liner around the t-top glass). I found an article on the web about how to but I'm curious as to the price. Thanks. SXM.

I don't know, but while I've gotcha on the line I gotta couple questions. why are your wing stands $30 more than FOCOAs? Are they better? And do you have any pics of a notchback with the taller stands? OK. That was 3 questions. Sorry.

I was getting my wing stands from a place in Canada. They were priced with only a modest profit of $9. I have been referring inquiries about these to FOCOA as they offer a better deal (and they have the mold). I'll email you a pic of a 86 SE with the 5" stands. SXM.

SXM... Just bought P-seals for mine. Front and rear. $98.03 each(!!!). Haven't put 'em on, yet. Check this link... http://www.fieroparts.com/ He's apparently bought the entire stock of T-top repair / replacement parts. (BTW... The left side weather seal is no longer available. If you find a source, please let me know. There are also a few other discontinued items.) I've also heard that the late 80's - early 90's Mustang used similar P-seals, and could be had quite a bit cheaper. Not sure, though.

Some time ago, before Tim bought out the inventory of TTop parts, I talked to Pam at Brighton (Was C&C) who told me that the '88 mustang had the same pseal. She said it needed to be trimmed slightly because it was longer, but that the shape of the seal is identical. The Ford part number she gave me is: E1ZZ6650080A. At the time (2 years ago), it seems like they ran about $55 apiece. Tim has some good prices on alot of other TTop parts, I don't know why the pseals are so expensive. Anyway, check it out at your local friendly Ford dealer.

88... Thanks for expanding on this. I remember you telling me about the Mustang P-seals (at the meeting), but I didn't have the part#. Good to see you, on here!

Hey Man, good to see you here too. Didn't recognize you! Missed you at the Fall Cruise on the 4th, hope we'll get together at the Jan meeting. Maybe if it's nice I will bring my TTop too. Happy Holidays!

SXM, would door edge molding work? The kind that dealers put on the back edge of the door to protect against chips and boost their profits? It only a couple of bucks at an autoparts store or Wal-mart.
The first thing I noticed about the t-tops is that they don't have a finished look because of that felt seal, which isn't a seal. My guess is it is only there to protect the bare edge of the glass against chipping. Plastic edge molding should do the same thing, look a lot more "finished" and only cost a couple of $. I haven't tried it myself but when my felt goes bad I will certainly try it.

Yeah Tom - ironically I used to own a 86 Mustang GT a few years ago and it didn't have those seals. They just quiet the glass and protect it. After I get it stipped off I will have a better idea what to do. SXM.

The Mustangs probably had the same brand t-tops. Many early factory t-tops (like the Fiero & convertibles ( '80s Camaros) were never made by the factory. GM just farmed it out to someone who was already doing it to GM cars. It may have been a "factory" option in 1988 but the factory just went to the same company that was installing t-tops in older fieros (I've seen a few pre-88s with the C&C t-tops). Much cheaper, unless the factory is going to mass produce them.
