I have an MSD 6al and blaster coil on my DuckMobile. I dont know about better performance, but economy is pretty good. I added a "dual exhaust" v6 muffler to help with the sound, removed the baffle in the air intake. I have thought about taking the flow "wedge" out from under the throttle body to see if it gained any top end power, but I figure that GM must have a pretty good reason for putting it in there.

Hey, Racer 1...If you've got $$$ to burn, I need a loan! Seriously, if you want better performance, why not replace the 4 with a 6? Kick Hill sells the 2.8 and (supposedly) all of the change-over parts for less than a grand. Then you could rebuild the 2.8 into a 3.1 (or maybe 3.2...hmmmmm).
RACER 1 GET BEHIND 2.8 GT OR SE AND ASK FOR A PUSH OR YOU COULD LOOK FOR A CLIFF BUT THAT MAY SCRATCH THE CAR. WHAT I DID IS I GOT A CAM NEW PISTONS I HAD THE VALVE HEAD DONE NEW CRANK AND NEW MAINS ALSO THE HEAD WAS SHAVED AND NOW SHE FLY'S RIGHT.

Eddie--no prob about the caps, but you really need a better computer (i.e. something other than a Mac). I know they aren't cheap, but you can get some good deals on them these days. I don't know what the difference is, but my brother-in-law is a computer programmer and he said that there are all kinds of probs with Macs. I've got a Gateway with a 550meg PIII myself and love it. It was a present from my wife for my birthday. Sorry to get off the subject. Just giving you my opinion.
My tri-Y header bolted right on all you have to do is weld it infront of the cat. Hooker also make a 4 into 1 design but it doesnt have the O2 sensor mount. http://fierorob.homepage.com/DSCengine8.JPG hope this works look up at the top on my website page here the tri-y goes straight out of the head then goes down. http://fierorob.homepage.com/
Monkeyman, you wish windows was half the OS that's on the Macintosh. No I'm not starting a flame........ I use service and make my living of Wintel boxes. I've done so for Mac and Wintel since they wher both invented.
Eddies problem is caused very simply by the diferance in keyboards and some inatentive typing. It has nothing to do with the mac. If I moved you from a good IBM or Keytronic keyboard to the cheap slag that has buttons on most systems then you'd likely have the same problem. same problem moving from a cheap KB to a good one.
I only use IBM PC-AT & PS/2 style keyboards at home. I've put them on every machine but my girlfriends Compaq. If I use her machine, or one of the ones at work with diferant KB's I have to nearly relearn how to push even one button. allot of the stuff they push for keyboards these days should be trashed. Even some of the "ergonomic" ones bite. Yeah they are a bit more comfortable but they are built out of the same crud.
